Torments
in Life
By Apolinario Villalobos
Life may not a bed of roses
As I may say
Love may make it vibrant
But, till when?
It’s one big question often asked
That can torment on sleepless nights
As the fickle heart can sometimes
Make its beating mean for someone else
Despite the promise, that’s sworn for
years.
Offspring are parent’s hope
So, they say
Strength for aging moms and dads
But, are they?
It’s one big question often asked
That can torment on sleepless nights
As the growing youth can sometimes
Forget the nine months spent in womb
And their parents’ toil, till they have
grown.
